I wish it didn't exist. Threads, either. X is trash, twitter never should have been sold to him. But these 2 sites? Threads is anger over politics and gender wars that the site mostly allows to fly freely, and people preying on each other (male and female alike..let's not excuse women who prey just as much as the men with d pics). Bluesky, is mostly just the latter. NSFW content is allowed and you can DM people there, so the site is crawling with people who would be on onlyfans if they were attractive enough to garner paid followers, and people who are too broke or cheap to pay for OF content. Whole thing just feels slimy. The ability to see a nicely compiled list of people's comments to others is also showing everyone for who they really are. I see the value in that- harder to hide things. But also, hurting for it, cause I am one of the ones who saw things...my now-ex told some sleeze he'd eff her. Don't know if I am more offended he was ready to cheat, or the fact it was a gross jabba the hutt he was drooling over. I'm hurt by both the violation of trust, and the hit to my self-esteem, asking myself "how ugly am I that this is my replacement??" But, I digress.
I don't see either site doing anything but causing more damage. If all free social media refused to monetize NSFW content and de-monetized anyone who posts links to monetized nsfw websites (like OF), and removed bot accounts, it wouldn't just remove the damaging content while still allowing people to post what they want (including nudes), but most importantly- it'd also shut off a source of revenue for traffickers. That is one of their major sources for it. But debauchery makes money for social media sites, and money matters more to the founders than stopping criminal activity on their sites.
